THE TECHNOLOGY BEHIND SOLAR ENERGY

"Plugging into the sun"

Sunlight is free and harnessing this energy would do away with solid fuels, which produce carbon dioxide and pollute the atmosphere around us. One of the most innovative ways of capturing sunlight is by using photovoltaic (PV) cells. This technology works by capturing sunlight and when it passes through these cells it produces an electric current.

The company First Solar is now a leading market player whose innovation in this technology has the efficency to produce these (PV) cells in two and a half hours.
First solar uses cadmium telluride (CdTe) as a semi conductor to make panels panels that are less expensive than crystalline silicon cells.

WHAT PROBLEMS IT SOLVES

In creating Solar Energy we are moving away
from the use of fossil fuels and also reducing
carbon emissions into the atmosphere. It doesn't
make any type of noise pollution. Ultimately
Solar Energy would replace fossil fuelled
and nuclear power stations worldwide.

HOW IT WILL IMPACT SOCIETY

Solar Energy would create a cleaner, healthier
environment which is good for generations to come.
It is sustainable,  we will never run out of Solar
Energy. Conservation of the power it produces will
ensure it is not wasted.
